50:1 Fuel Mix Chart

The most common ratio for modern 2-stroke engines. Recommended for newer chainsaws, trimmers, and small engines. Requires 2.6 oz of oil per gallon of gas.

40:1 Fuel Mix Chart

A slightly richer mix used in older or high-RPM tools. Offers extra lubrication. Requires 3.2 oz of oil per gallon of gas.

32:1 Fuel Mix Chart

Popular for vintage engines or machines under heavy load. Requires 4 oz of oil per gallon of gas.

25:1 Fuel Mix Chart

One of the richest oil blends, commonly used in very old 2-stroke motors. Provides maximum lubrication. Requires 5.1 oz of oil per gallon of gas.

What Is a 2-Stroke Fuel Mix Ratio?

A fuel mix ratio describes the amount of gasoline to 2-stroke oil your engine needs to operate safely. For example, a 50:1 ratio means you mix 50 parts gasoline with 1 part oil. Using the correct ratio is essential to:

  • Prevent engine wear or seizure
  • Ensure proper combustion
  • Extend engine lifespan
  • Avoid smoke, carbon deposits, and spark plug fouling

Need Help Choosing a Ratio?

Not sure which mix your engine needs? Always check:

  • Your owner’s manual
  • The engine casing or carburetor label
  • Manufacturer’s website

If in doubt, never go leaner than recommended. Using too little oil can damage your engine permanently.
